Firefighter Medical Directives and Policies

The SWCPM offers a variety of Medical Directive options to best meet the needs of your service and community.

Each Medical Directive package contains the following standard Medical Directives, Policies and Guidelines:

  • Intro and Preamble
  • Oxygen Therapy Medical Directive
  • Carbon Monoxide Medical Directive
  • Guidelines for Interaction with a Physician on Scene
  • Guidelines for Cardiac Arrest Transfer of Care to Firefighters and/Paramedics
  • Determination of Obvious Death
  • Guidelines for Prehospital DNR and Expected Death
  • Guidelines for Death in the Home When There is NO DNR Confirmation Form
  • Firefighter Certification Policy
  • Deactivation and Decertification Policy
  • Documentation Standards
